Throwing Bricks is a metal band based in Utrecht, The Netherlands. This five piece mixes slow crushing sludge riffs with elements of hardcore punk, black metal and screamo.

Throwing Bricks’ music sounds angry and aggressive, but first and foremost it's emotionally punishing. The feverish lyrics, brutal growls and intensely high screeches, low yet melodic guitar work, grimy bass and pounding drums, they all share a feeling of hopelessness. No matter how hard you fight against it, resistance is futile. Whether you like dark, brooding drones, slow and dragging riffs or insanely fast blast beats, this band has got it all.

After releasing their albums ‘What Will Be Lost’ and ‘The Burden’ on Tartarus Records, the band is back in 2024 for a split record with close friends and early collaborators Ontaard. They say a sorrow shared, is a sorrow halved. Coincidentally, this record finds both bands reaching out to the help of friends by collaborating with other musicians (Kim Hoorweg of Vulva a.o.) and pushing their own boundaries. Besides all gloomy bleakness, this is the product of friends finding joy in heaviness.

‘Oud Zeer’ is recorded & produced by Marius Prins (Throwing Bricks) at dB’s and Studio Moskou and mastered by Tim de Gieter (Doodseskader, Amenra) at Much Luv Studios.

A Throwing Bricks live show is an emotional and intense experience. Get ready to be sucked into a very heavy and loud void.

THROWING BRICKS have firmly lined themselves up as potential future leaders in the post-metal world. To combine darkness with light this beautifully, this intricately, this powerfully, is a grand statement to the scene. It’s hard to think of another album that has done it quite so well since MØL‘s peerless Diorama. A grand statement indeed.
