Good Times #159 "Evocative Synth(esis)" by Carla Malrowe

β€œAn amalgam of synth-lead Indie, Indietronica and Electro songs that I find to be haunting, piercing and insanely masterful. It is a playlist to dance to, dream to, fly to, fight to, fall in love to, and break down and cry to. All at once. Fun stuff.

I'm drawn to intensity, tragedy, extreme beauty and wild chaos in music and fascinated by songwriting and production techniques used to bring these concepts to life. There is nothing mediocre, chill, or, my very worst term, "light-hearted" about this list. There is nothing light about my heart and nothing light about my taste.

What I love about these tracks is, that obtrusive electronics merge with acoustic instrumentation, vulnerable vocal deliveries, and poetic or indecipherable lyrics, to create hard-hitting evocative listening experiences. These songwriters accomplished the effective evoking of strong emotional reactions in me and each song on this list teaches me something unique about evocative songwriting.

They have all been influential to me in my journey as a songwriter.  Enjoy. And good luck.”
