Good Times #85 "Shake Us Awake" by Dangerfields
"We are Dangerfields, a 5 piece band from Cape Town. When people ask what our genre is we usually say “post-punk” or “shoegaze” because our music tends to lean in a more atmospheric direction. Creating music is self-therapy for us, so the music we make tends to reflect the situations or thought processes that we have been going through around the time of writing it, probably with some influence from the music we have been listening to. Over the past 2 years, the pandemic caused us to have to change our approach as to how we create, perform and release, and in the process we have expanded our sound and written new music. We recently recorded some of these new songs, and we are about to start sharing them with you, starting with ‘Fade’, our first single to be released through The Good Times Co this Friday. This playlist includes a bunch of the music we have enjoyed over the past few years (and some staples) and it should give you an idea of some sounds you may be able to hear shining through in our newer material."
