Release Radar: Benjamin Fisher celebrates resilience in power-packed new single “Charlie Boy”

The third single from Cape Town based artist and songwriter, Benjamin Fisher, is an anthem that embodies the idea of simply not backing down. Titled “Charlie Boy” and released on 2 Feb 2024 through Netherlands-based The Good Times Co, the drum-and-guitar fuelled track radiates a message of resilience. “I wanted to acknowledge the inevitability of setbacks and disappointments that come with life while maintaining an unwavering spirit to push forward,” says Fisher of his latest release. Urged forward by an infectious chorus (“run around Charlie, run”) the track features Fisher’s signature bluesy piano playing and reveals another side to his voice, echoing the power of the best rock singers, past and present.

“Charlie Boy” follows on from Fisher’s debut with The Good Times Co, the beautifully nostalgic “What It Was” (November 2022) and subsequent single, the moving and heartfelt “Time” (July 2023).
