‘Blue Light’ is the third single from Laurie Levine’s upcoming EP, Dunes.
Written from the perspective of a character trapped in a cold, dystopian digital world stripped of feeling and meaning. The setting is a stark landscape in which screens and machines have taken over and robbed us of our humanity. The song is the character’s cry for connection- connection to self, connection to others and connection to a more forgiving, gentle and natural world.
Since surfacing with her remarkable debut, Unspoken, back in 2007, Laurie Levine has meticulously crafted a reputation for her fresh blend of Americana and Folk.
Over seven records the South African-based artist has earned multiple accolades. Among these were four nominations at the annual South African Music Awards (SAMA’s) and two “Standard Bank Ovation Awards.” for her live performances at the Grahamstown Festival.
