Release Radar: Recorded live to capture the essence of their live performance, Yndian Mynah release full body of work ‘The Boys Scribbled Like Mad’

Yndian Mynah present their second album The Boys Scribbled Like Mad recorded over 2021 and 2022 in studio with Dane Taylor. Growing from the first album Velvet Youth, the band wanted to capture the rawness and togetherness of live performances. The Boys Scribbled Like Mad was all recorded live, choosing the best takes. Using the energy of playing in the same room, the recording beautifully captured the band’s live style and communicative nature of their performances.

‘Socks On Astroturf’ is the opening single and Title track. The song opens the Album with a new energy, showing in itself all different aspects of the album as a whole. The song was written as the band came together after time away during lockdown, and in a way is totally centred around that moment when everyone felt reunited. There is a positivity to the song, and the excitement of writing together again. There is no better way to start the Album, than with what happened at the beginning, starting as a long and distant reverb call, changing over to tight close up melodies and an infectious bass line.
